What is ARTE?
Actors' Repertory Theatre Ensemble is a private, non-profit theatre arts organization established in 1989. ARTE creates theatre and musical productions in Provo, Utah.
Who makes up ARTE?
ARTE is made up of an ensemble led by professional directors and actors who have taught or studied at the American Conservatory Theatre, Denver Center, National Theatre Conservatory, Seattle Children’s Theatre, University of Arizona and Brigham Young University. In keeping with its mission to educate as well as to entertain, the ensemble is an exciting mix of experienced theatre professionals working alongside dedicated students.
What types of performances does ARTE perform?
Summer productions of ARTE at its home in Provo’s outdoor Castle Amphitheatre include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, As You Like It, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew, The Tempest, The Miser, Mother Courage and Her Children, Bus Stop, The Lion in Winter, Bedroom Farce, Neil Labute’s Dracula, misalliance, The Three Musketeers, and Sweeney Todd.
Where is the Castle Amphitheatre?
The outdoor Castle Amphitheatre is located at 1300 E Center Street behind Seven Peaks. The amphitheatre is a perfect place for the Shakespeare and period plays that ARTE performs.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased the night of the performance at the box office. The box office opens at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased in advance through the Web site using PayPal. Print the receipt from PayPal and bring it to the show.
Where can I make a donation?
ARTE relies heavily on the kindness of donors for continued success and great performances. The “Donate” section on the Web site will send you to a PayPal site where you may donate using credit cards.
Are there any volunteer positions available?
At the beginning of each production, volunteers are needed in positions such as website manager, graphic designer, marketing help, business manager, ushers, assistant to the production manager, sound assistant, etc.
